Recently, I have been trying body creams from different brands I have never heard of or tried before. I got my hands on the Rose + Wildflower Body Creme from Honeydipped Essentials and while I was reading through the ingredients, I came across one I had never heard of before: kaolin rose clay. As a lover of anything and everything rose, I was immediately intrigued. What is kaolin rose clay? What are its benefits? Are there any potential drawbacks. I did my research and today, I want to talk to y’all about what I found

What is kaolin rose clay?

Kaolin rose clay is a type of natural clay that contains kaolinite, a soft white clay. Rose clay, or pink clay as it’s sometimes been called, is getting some buzz recently as it has been shown that this ingredient is great for all skin types to gently and naturally cleanse and exfoliate the skin. It helps improve the circulation in the skin and aids in silkiness and absorption of personal care and cosmetic ingredients.

What are the benefits of kaolin rose clay?

Clay has been used as a skincare ingredient for many many years. Of the different variations of cosmetic clays, kaolin clay is one of the mildest. Because of its mildness, people of all different skin types are able to make use of kaolin rose clay and benefit from its properties.

One of the best benefits of kaolin rose clay is that is a very gentle cleanser and exfoliator. Kaolin rose clay clings to skin impurities like dead skin, harmful oils, and bacteria and gently draws them up and away from the skin. Clays are also great at absorbing excess oil from the skin that can also clog pores and cause acne.

Kaolin rose clay also works well as a skin soother and toner. This clay works very well to soothe inflamed or irritated skin. Additionally, it helps tone skin and helps make it look more toned and vibrant appearance through its exfoliating properties.

What are some drawbacks of kaolin rose clay?

As mentioned before, clays have a tendency to draw out impurities from the skin and absorb excess oils. If you use kaolin rose clay as part of your skincare regimen, you might experience excessive skin dryness, some redness, and flaking. As with any skincare product, if you experience any unwanted or adverse reaction, immediately stop use.

I’ve been really enjoying my Rose + Wildflower Body Creme from Honeydipped Essentials! My skin always feels silky smooth, hydrated, and soothed whenever I put it on after taking a shower. Not only that, I’m so glad to have discovered a great new skincare ingredient. Have you ever tried kaolin rose clay in your skincare?
