If you’re not wearing sunscreen every day, you should start! It’s the best and easiest way to protect your skin. Sunscreen can prevent all sorts of unhealthy and uncomfortable things like sunburn, premature aging, and (most importantly) skin cancer.

It’s generally recommended that you use a sunscreen with at least SPF 30. Johns Hopkins recommends using SPF 60 or higher if you spend a lot of time outdoors. You want to reapply your sunscreen every few hours. I work in an office so I reapply my sunscreen every four hours. If I’m spending a lot of time outdoors, though, I reapply my sunscreen every two hours.

I’m very particular about the sunscreen I use on my face. I don’t like the oily or sticky feeling that some sunscreens have. I’m also really particular because I usually wear makeup over sunscreen so what I’m using has to play well with the makeup I’m using that day.

I usually like to pick Korean made face sunscreen. What I’ve observed is that Korean made sunscreen is lightweight, doesn’t feel too greasy, and plays well with makeup.

I’ve been using the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu Cica Water Fit Sun Serum for a few weeks and I want to break down my thoughts on this facial sunscreen.

About SKIN1004

SKIN1004 is a skincare brand based out of Korea and launched in 2012. The company prides itself on using top incgredients in its skincare products. Their philosophy is to use ingredients that are mild and gentle because ultimately, these are ingredients that are going to be put on the skin.

Looking at their products, the main ingredient they use in their products in Centella asiatica from Madagascar. Centella asiataca is a great skincare ingredient that’s popular for its antioxidant properties and it’s perfect for hydrating the skin. This ingredient is great for a lot of skin types. It’s great for dry skin and oily skin as well as for folks with sensitive skin. I’ve used a few skincare products with Centella asiatica and it’s always worked well for me so I was excited to try the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum.

Formulation

SKIN1004’s Water Fit Sun Serum is formulated with both hyaluronic acid and Centella asiatica. Hyaluronic acid is one of my favorite ingredients and it’s perfect for keeping skin plump and moisturized.

Along with Centella asiatica’s sun protection capabilities, this ingredient is great for soothing inflammation and helps soothe skin. Along with with these great protective properties, Centella asiatica is also great at hydrating the skin.

Together, these two ingredients have great capabilities to be both a great sunscreen and great hydrating product.

Review

I have a lot of standards for sunscreens. The most important factor I look for is that it doesn’t cause any irritation of dryness to the skin. I’ve used other sunscreens that have made my skin tight and dry. This sunscreen was the opposite! The Water Fit Sun Serum feels great on the skin. The Centella asiatica and hyaluronic acid ingredients in this sunscreen left my skin feeling moisturized and fresh. What’s even better about this is that it never left my face oily or greasy. I’ve also used products that makes my face feel like a greased frypan. The Water Fit Sun Serum is really comfortable on the skin.

Another factor that’s really important for me is that this sunscreen doesn’t have a whitecast to it. There are a lot of sunscreens that leave the skin greyed out and this sunscreen is amazing at providing suncare while leaving the skin’s pallor unchanged.

Finally, this sunscreen does well under makeup. It doesn’t cause makeup to separate and because it doesn’t leave a whitecast, didn’t change the color or shade of makeup applied.

Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed this sunscreen. I love the ingredients used in The Water Fit Sun Serum. Centella asiatica and hyaluronic acid left the skin moisturized and plump and it felt really good on the skin. I love that this sunscreen didn’t leave a whitecast and works really beautifully with makeup.

I 100% recommend this sunscreen when you’re making a choice on which face sunscreen to choose and wear. You can purchase the Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum on Stylevana, Amazon as well as on their website!
